DeSoto County Scholastic Chess (DCSC) is formed to promote scholastic chess
in North Mississippi. Our goal is to see every school in DeSoto County and
surrounding counties to actively participate in scholastic chess event.
Our Motto: "Training Children's' Mind for Their Future."
Our scholastic chess tournaments require entry fee. These are used for
trophies, site rental and USCF rating fees. Income from each tournament,
if there's any  , will be held on escrow to lower the entry fees of the
next tournament.
It is our goal to organize a countywide chess tournament that does not
require entry fee at least once a year.
Non-monetary sponsorship (i.e. trophies, site usage, and scholarship) are
welcome. There are also opportunities to sponsor USCF membership for
disadvantaged students.
School organizations who are interested in sponsoring a chess tournament at
their site may contact us at Events@DeSotoChess.org. School sponsorship for a
tournament site is highly encourage, it will not only lower the entry fee
for the tournament, it will also help the school to make extra money for
their fund raising. (PTA's can run concessions etc…)
